Quotes

You'll never know how incredible you are to me, how desperately I love you. I would do it all over again if I needed to. I'd go back to the beginning for you”
“Because I love you more than any one person should be allowed to love someone.”
“Making a sound that was both a laugh and a sob, Kellan stared into his son’s eyes. “Hey, little man,” he whispered. “I’m your dad, and I love you . . . so much.” Voice quavering, he added, “I’m so glad you’re here.”
“I never thought of myself as anything but plain and ordinary until you came along. The way you look at me, the way you see me . . . you pull something out of me. When I want to hide, you urge me forward. When I think I’m not good enough, you make me believe I am. When I feel anything but pretty, you convince me I’m beautiful. Just being around you makes me feel special. You don’t think you’re good at loving people, but you are. Your friends, your family . . . the level of love that you have for people astounds me. You don’t think people love you back, but they do. They fiercely love you. I fiercely love you. I’ve never met anyone as passionate as you, as kindhearted as you . . . as amazing as you. You love with every fiber of your soul. You inspire me every day. And if you’ll agree to be my husband, I’ll do my best to make you proud of me, to inspire you.”
“She’s my wife. She goes where I go.”
“I love you too, and I don’t want anybody else either." Cupping his cheek, she added, "You’re enough for me."
That seemed to make sense to Griffin, and he finally smiled like he was happy.
"You’re enough for me too."
Grabbing his hand, Anna started backing toward her room. "Good, then come be enough for me right now. I’m horny as hell."
Griffin rushed up to her, grabbing her backside. "God, me too," he murmured
before their mouths met.” Anna & Griffin

Excerpt The Fiery Heart (Bloodlines #4) by Richelle Mead

Adrian's POV:

Rowena Clark and I had met on the first day of our mixed media class. I’d sat down at her table and said, “Mind if I join you? Figure the best way to learn about art is to sit with a masterpiece.” Maybe I was in love, but I was still Adrian Ivashkov.

Rowena had fixed me with a flat look. “Let’s get one thing straight. I can see through crap a mile away, and I like girls, not guys, so if you can’t handle me telling you what’s what, then you’d better take your one-liners and hair gel somewhere else. I don’t go to this school to put up with pretty boys like you. I’m here to face dubious employment options with a painting degree and then go get a Guinness after class.”

I’d scooted my chair closer to the table. “You and I are going to get along just fine.”

Excerpt:
It was late, just on the cusp of the deep part of night where everything falls quiet. I listened to the house, but only the dying fire and Agnes's muffled nose made any sound at all. The last time I had visited Will at night, he hadn't been happy. I brought my fingers to my throat. The memory of his whispered words along my neck sent a quiver racing over my skin.

He'd probably throw me out into the garden on my arse.

And he'd be right to do it. I was taking a risk, a terrible risk.

The letter Simon had written to his wife had moved me. I couldn't let his final words remain unread by her, and I needed to know more. Pricket's widow was the only one who could shed light on the clues contained within the journal. As much as I loved my family, I now felt I didn't know them at all. I longed to speak to someone, anyone, who could tell me more about this secret part of their lives. A mystery lingered, a deadly one. I needed to reach the heart of it before someone took my life.

I crept up the stairs into the garden. It was a foggy night with a thick mist hanging in the air. Halfway to the carriage house, a creeping suspicion woke within me. I stepped away from the lions, concealing myself in the fog and shadows.

My heart skipped. I thought I saw a light in one of the upper windows of the house, but when I turned, there was nothing.

I considered retreating to the kitchen.

A hush fell over the garden, as if an audience in the darkened theater was watching a terrible drama unfold. I hugged the book tighter to my chest and sprinted to the side door of the carriage house, away from the blank stare of the lion. I passed into the stables and was surprised to find a warm light flickering by the stove.

Will sat on the stool dressed in his shirtsleeves and waistcoat. He continued polishing the leather strap of a bridle and didn't bother to look up.

"You're still awake?" I took a seat beside him.

"I was expecting you sooner," he admitted, looping the bridle on an empty peg among the other straps, harnesses, halters, and saddles hanging neatly from the wall of a small storage room.

He wanted me to visit? I fiddled with my skirt to soothe the restless feeling in my hands. "You aren't going to lecture me about how we could lose our jobs?"

He leveled me with a cool glance as he returned to his seat by the stove. "It's too late for that, and clearly, reasoning with you doesn't work. So what's in the book?"

Here in the stable, my doubt of him eased. I needed someone I could trust. Will hadn't failed me.
